With an ongoing ministry in Asia for more than 20 years, it is our desire to facilitate like minded disciple making churches to personally reach Chinese and Asia for Christ.

To accomplish this we ask you to consider becoming a Strategic Mission Church with us.

A Strategic Mission Church operates as if it is the missionary to a Key city for 2 to 3 years.

If your church chooses to be a Strategic Mission Church, you would

prayerfully adopt a Key City or Key Church in Asia that God wants you to reach with the Gospel, and take responsibility...

  1.   for traveling to your adopted areas,

  2.   discerning God’ strategy for that place,

  3.   finding the key people,

  4.   leading people to Christ,

  5.   discipling one on one,

  6.   producing momentum for church planting,

  7.   and training the nationals to reproduce that.

The goal – to expose the entire city to the Gospel and plant churches that multiply.

Acts 14:21 reads, “And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned…”   This means that you must first have trained soul winners, solid Disciplers and an effective church planting strategy.

Think of the impact this can have on the growth of your own church and the first hand exposure to real mission work.

Frequent Questions 1 of 3:            Strategic Mission Churches Project

How do we know if our church is ready to be a Strategic Mission Church? If your church has an interest in mission trips, and you want to take a step of faith to work in a strategic manner, then take a look at The Strategic Mission Church Project. If you're not sure, contact us.

Can someone visit our church and tell us about this Project? After we have made initial contact through email and telephone, we can arrange to meet with your church within three or four months. Sooner if the timing is right.

Who trains our church? Rev. John Honeycutt or staff from other experienced churches will conduct the training always with your approval.

How much does it cost to be a Strategic Mission Church? There is no fee or charge. However, taking care of the Trainer's expenses and providing a love offering is considered customary. Churches are expected to pay for their own expenses for airline tickets, hotels, food, ground transportation, and any other expenses related to your work. When The Strategic Mission Church personnel accompany you, that person's expenses need to be paid by you.

Frequent Questions 2 of 3:            Strategic Mission Churches Project

Is my church required to have a member of our staff lead our team? No. Most teams are led by church members.

How many people can be on a trip?  That depends on the Key city that you choose. In some places in Asia the more the better. In China the recommended number at any one time may vary. Keep in mind that this work is built on relationships. The more often the same people go, the more trust you build with nationals.

How does our church decide which city to adopt?  We have a list of priority cities from which you can choose. There are hundreds of cities. We have cities where there is currently no known effort to plant churches at all. We will assist you in your decision to match you with a city but ultimately you want God to show His will to your ministry.

Where does the training take place?  First in your church and then in your adopted city. Arrangements are made for a hotel in, or near, the area where you will be working. Part of the training takes place in the hotel meeting room. The remainder of the training is "hands-on" in the city.

Frequent Questions 3 of 3:            Strategic Mission Churches Project

How long does the training take before coming on a trip? Usually, six to eight hours of training or one hour a week for eight weeks.

What does the training involve? Instructions on international travel, developing a master plan based on the principles of church planting, learning Asian culture, and more. It’s important to understand that already having disciplers in place who can win souls is necessary. Training for this is available also.

What happens after we are trained? Are we one our own? No, we are here to help in logistics, coaching, follow-up training, and doing whatever else we can to help you succeed. If time and budget allows, and if needed, we may accompany you on additional trips.

How many times a year are we expected to go to our adopted city? Not less than three. Obviously, the more times you go the more effective you will be. Six to eight times a year is admirable. Four is average. If you can only go once a year, you may need to do something else. We suggest taking more trips with key people.
